Sega schedules Tournament of Legends for May 18

game free pc full version download High Voltage Software’s M-for-Mature Wii-exclusive fighter Gladiator A.D. resurfaces with T-for-Teen targeted fantasy makeover. The team behind the Wii first-person shooter The Conduit is reuniting for another go at Nintendo’s console. Sega today announced that it will be partnering with High Voltage Software for Tournament of Legends. Tournament of Legends features a

cast of fantasy archetypes, including the minotaur here. Set for release on the Wii, Tournament of Legends is a fantasy-focused 3D fighting game. Players will be able to jump into one-on-one battles with a roster of mythological combatants, including a minotaur, gorgon, golem, gladiator, valkyrie, and more. The fantasy focus follows through to the fights themselves, as players will be able to cast magic and summon assistance from the likes of man-eating lions and venomous snakes in their fights. The game is being built on High Voltage’s Quantum 3 engine, the same technology behind The Conduit and the studio’s other announced game, The Grinder. Tournament of Legends is a revamped version of High Voltage’s Gladiator A.D., announced last year without a publisher attached. But where that game featured a grim, almost certainly M-for-Mature-rated take, Sega confirmed for GameSpot that it is targeting a T-for-teen rating for Tournament of Legends. Gladiator A.D. looked awfully different, but some details (like the level architecture) are still recognizable. The apparent toning down of Gladiator A.D. into Tournament of Champions marks an about face for Sega, which had been a prominent publisher of Wii titles aimed at older gamers. Last year, the company released the M-for-Mature-rated duo of House of the Dead: Overkill and PlatinumGames’ MadWorld. Although those games’ sales were passable and disappointing, respectively, Sega president and COO Mike Hayes in August told Wired that the company was still open to adult-focused titles on Nintendo’s system. Tournament of Legends will debut in North American on May 18. The European launch is set for an unspecified May arrival
